
New Zealand Rugby League History
The Lion Red Cup was the national competition played in New Zealand. The 1994 season was the inaugural season of the Lion Red Cup.
In 1995 New Zealand Rugby League created the Legends of League, players, coaches and referees are inducted into the Legends of League at certain times, for example in 2008 4 more players were added as part of the 100 years of Maori rugby league.
George Smith was one of New Zealand's great sporting all rounder's, performing at a high level in Rugby and Rugby Leagues, athletics and horse racing.
